Theresa needs your prayers....
Most of you know Theresa and know of her fight with cancer.
But for those that do not know Theresa...she is one of my closest friends. She has been fighting breast cancer for over 9 years.
When they first found it, they gave her 1 year to live. The cancer has been treated and has come back 4 times during these 9 years.
For the last 2+ years, Theresa has received chemotherapy almost every week. She gets scanned every 3 mos to ensure the chemo continues to work.
A few months ago, the cancer came back again.
This time it has come back again in her liver and in her bones. They are most worried about her liver because it is inoperable...she has 3 "main" tumors and too many little ones to remove. She is not a candidate for a liver transplant as they will only give livers to those that are "healthy" and not fighting cancer which could kill the new liver.
So Theresa has had to be agressive and creative in trying to find a new way to treat her cancer. She is one of the strongest people I know and she is not ready to give up this fight.
Somehow and in some way she stays strong enough to even make a joke in spite of what she is enduring. How strong is that????
It is beyond my understanding. And it is this spirit that I believe with all of my heart keeps her here with those that love her.
A new treatment called sir-sphere microspheres in which they insert balls smaller than a grain of salt....1-2 million of them into the artery that feeds the liver (and is currently feeding the cancer). She will receive this treatment on 5/28.
While I do not normally ask this of those that have not met her, I am asking a favor...that you all pray for Theresa...as she needs our help right now.
I love her dearly and can not bear the thought of her not being here to laugh with.
I will be indebted to all of you for your help...
