Cancer does not care if you are rich or poor....

Did you happen to catch the special on Farrah Fawcett last week? Wow – that is courage. I loved that she kept her bangs and shaved the rest of her head. We all had the Farrah flip at one time – and boy, it was really hard for me to get my hair to flip like that, but I made it. And the pictures shall stay hidden. It reminds us that we have come so far in the battle against cancer, but we still have so far to go.

Cancer does not care if you are rich or poor, a runner or a coach potato, black or white – it is the great equalizer. But knowledge is power – always remember that this team is a great source of information. If you need help or know someone that needs help, let us know; we may not know the answer, but we will gladly help you to find it.

On a training note, the first week of training schedule was wet. But hey, what a great time to get out there and try out either your new poncho or small umbrella. But be careful of slick roads and lightening which is definitely not your friend.

For fundraising, I hope you are e-mailing friends and family and telling them about the journey that you are embarking on. And then keep e-mailing them because they forget. Let them know that you are training, let them know about the Casino Night on September 12th and let them know that they are making a difference. And be sure to also send a thank you note to those that donate to you and let them know how you are doing.

That’s all for now. Time to try and get some vacation time in before training begins. So keep walking, keep fundraising, and most of all keep having FUN!!!

I hope to see you soon J
