Denise Wheatley - Walker

About Me:

You will find that I am very easy going.   I am a Business Analyst at Raymond James.  I love hiking in nature, football, golf and laughing.  Being outdoors is one of my favorite things. I also love to cook.

Why I Walk:

This year will be my third year being involved with the Tampa Bay Breast Cancer 3-Day 60 mile walk. In 2006 I walked and in 2007 I crewed for my team, "Thanks for the Mammories." This year I am walking again and am looking forward to the journey. It is 3 days of walking 20 miles a day, but moreover it is 3 days of meeting, talking, and caring. And of course there are all the fun people you will be surrounded by. It is the most love you will ever feel from people from all over the state and country.
Most recently, I found out that my friend, Jean Pelak, had been fighting for the past year, her battle with breast cancer. She has been through surgery, chemo, and has just had a good report from her doctor about her most recent mammogram. Thank You God!
Statistics show that 1 in 8 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer. With early detection and improved treatments more and more women are surviving breast cancer. With the monies that the Breast Cancer 3-Day 60 mile walk raises, more and more improvements in treatments can be discovered.
I walk for Jean Pelak, for Margaret Peek, for Anne Marie Helms, for Linda Dillon, for my Aunt Teresa Russell, and for all women fighting the battle with breast cancer.
Because Everyone Deserves A Lifetime!
The Breast Cancer 3-Day is a 60-mile walk over the course of three days. Net proceeds benefit Susan G. Komen for the Cure and National Philanthropic Trust, funding important breast cancer research, education, screening, and treatment.

Please help me reach my fundraising goal of $2200.00, by donating to this worthy cause.
