I am a wife, mother and grandmother. I moved to Florida from Wisconsin in 1978 and never regretted the move. Lived in Orlando and worked at Disney World for several years before moving to the coast. Again, another move I have never regretted. Love the beach, love spending time with my family, and especially love babysitting my beautiful one year old granddaughter.
I decided to walk the 3-Day last year to honor a very dear friend I lost several years ago, for my sister-in-law who is a survivor and for my granddaughter so she never has to know what breast cancer is.
I started training on my own and just couldn’t keep motivated to walk more than 4-5 miles at a time. Kept coming up with several very good reasons why I could make up the miles “tomorrow” or “next week”. Then I met Janice at a meeting about the 3-Day Walk and they were looking for members to join this team. I don’t think I could have found a better team to motivate me through training, fundraising and walking the entire 60 miles. They are funny, crazy, wacky – but totally committed to the 3-Day and breast cancer awareness and a cure.
